Brief
This was the first project I worked on in Unity. I coded the game's main mechanics and generally learned how the engine worked including how to implement art assets.
Eating Fish
The central mechanic of Deep Cut is clicking on the screen to slash through fish. I programmed the simple behavior of the shark dashing and slashing fish in half, spawning fish pieces to eat. I also programmed the fish spawning mechanism, which keeps fish moving across the screen.

Bringing in Art
For many people on our team including myself it was our first time making a game in Unity. I had to learn how to work with Unity's editor and components. I also learned how to import art assets created by our artists into the game and make them move and animate and interact. I imported all of the fish/shark sprites and animated effects and made sure they looked and played as intended. I also supplemented some art with simple scale/translation animations I made such as the afterimage effect for the shark's dash/slash and the fish splitting into two halves when slashed.
